And so..

I'm back at Joo Chiat / East Coast Road again.. to discover new places for brunch / lunch.

Sinpopo Brand
458 Joo Chiat Road Singapore 427671
Tel:6345-5034
Opening Hours: Tue - Thur/Sun 1200 - 2200, Fri/Sat 1200 - 0000, Closed on Mon

I must admit that is the name of the place that caught my attention.

Laugh out loud when I saw "Iced Water - From PUB".

Sad to say I totally regretted my choice of coming in to this café upon sitting down and starring at the menu.

They have very limited main course on their menu.. To the extend that it only takes me ten seconds to finish scanning through the entire menu. It was also very depressing not knowing what to have since the choices are so limited.

They actually have more choices for desserts than mains.

We ended up ordering the Crab Wantons, S$8

Described as "Creamy crabmeat stuffed in crispy wonton skins served with a house dip".

Gula Melaka Cake, S$7

and a drink - Sng Muay Pop, S$5.

We were certain that this is n…

Choupinette @ Bukit Timah Road

Heard / read quite a fair bit about Choupinette, located along Bukit Timah Road (right next to Coronation Plaza) and I finally made a visit to this little French bakery / café few weeks back.

The Boyfriend and I were there sometime ago on a weekday evening and the place was closed so we decided to make a trip back again on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. This time round we make sure to check out their operating hours, before making our way there.

We were there at around three in the afternoon and decided to each ordered a brunch set. Each set comes with a fruit juice and any choice of hot drink.

They do have quite a number of brunch sets available, but do take note of the timing as some are only available until noon while the others are available till 5pm.

What I ordered: Egg Royale, S$26

The usual Egg Benedict was S$25, so I thought I might as well top up a dollar more for the Egg Royale. The difference between the two is that the Egg Benedict comes with ham while the Egg Royale com…

99th / Roses Only

Image
Earlier last month, the Boyfriend went for his first ever oversea work trip (to Bali).

The trip was supposed to last for four days from 5th to 8th October, which, happened to coincide with our 99th monthsaries.

Generally, after being together for so long, we no longer celebrate our monthsaries. But because it was our 99th months (the figure 99 / 100 seems to hold some unknown significance?) it somehow feel extra special.

We actually had a small quarrel two days before his trip and because of that, we weren't exactly on talking terms.

He left early in the morning on 5th October.

On 6th October, I received a surprise delivery from RedMart. He actually ordered some food for me, probably thinking that I'll starve myself without him around. Since I was still angry with him, I didn't text him or reply to any of his text messages. I simply just wrote on my Dayre that I received a surprise delivery and the person who made the order actually got me things that I don't usually…

Revelry @ 21 Lor Kilat

Discovered yet another new place for brunch!

Revelry is probably one of the nicest café I have been to recently that served pretty decent waffles!

Most of the café I came across usually serve pancakes so I'm quite surprise to find one that serve waffles instead. Two thumbs up for having a wide variety of choices too.

Chamomile tea served in a cute teapot.

Waffle Royale, S$17.50

Poached eggs, smoked salmon, baby spinach and hollandaise sauce on Belgian waffle.

Doesn't look like much, but it actually tastes quite good. I bet it will be even better with the hollandaise sauce but the Boyfriend wasn't a fan of that so we asked to have it removed.

The Full Band, S$19

Grilled bratwurst sausage, crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomato and scrambled eggs on Belgian waffle. Maple syrup served separately.

I'm not a big fan of bratwurst sausage, so that's probably my least favorite item on the plate. My favorite? Definitely the waffle! Slightly crispy on the outside y…
